EMDR Integrative Psychotherapy & Consultancy

ADHD & Autism Services

Emerging Minds is a new therapist led support group for young adults aged 18-30, which offers a welcoming space to connect with others navigating adulthood with neurodivergent minds.

Emphasis is placed on mutual respect and shared experience. The group content will be member led, however will broadly cover psycho-education, and strategies for emotional regulation, self-advocacy, managing relationships and other common issues faced by young people with low support need Autism, ADHD or a combination of both.

You do not need to have a diagnosis to attend, please contact me if in doubt.

Each group will meet a total of 9 times and will agree on the topics most relevant to them through a majority decision. Group time will be split between psycho-education and group interaction, with a particular focus on shared experience and coping strategies.

A large part of the group purpose is to encourage relationships and peer support. Group members will be encouraged to set up social activities between sessions and feelings around friendships and interacting will be explored. There will be no pressure to participate in anything however, and each person can do as much or as little as they want.

The cost of each session is £25 and does require a commitment to attend the full block once comfort levels have been established, with obvious pre-informed exceptions. So it is not a drop-in, drop-out group. This is in keeping with the focus on relationships. However, no one will be contracted to stay if it is not the right fit.
